She is culturally associated with the Pitjantjatjara people of the Northern Territory. Anmanari grew up in the desert initially and then attended the mission school at Warburton. Anmanari was married to Nyakul Dawson and now has a large family. Anmanari currently lives with her daughter Angilyiya Mitchell and family in
